Aroma is mildly roasty chocolate malts, and lots of mild coffee. Flavor is very smooth roast, with a solid coffee prescence and a bit of chocolate and hazelnut toffee. The mouthfeel is creamy, yet light, and before I knew it, my glass was empty. NachlamSie (1653), Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 9, 2007 Bottle, thanks Muenster! Pours a dark nearl-black with a very nice tan head. This is brownish in the light, not red like I was expecting. The nose has very strong coffee which is slightly abrasive, but not bad at all. Some slight pine and chocolate hang around in the scent as well. The flavor is even better. It’s solidly milky, creamy, with hints of chocolate and obvious coffee. The coffee flavor is pretty bright and slightly drying, probably Latin American in origin from what I can discern through the combo here. The carbonation is a little high for the style, but it works very well with the more acidic notes. Everything is fairly light for a coffee porter, but it would make a fantastic session ale. It pours jet black and smells and tastes of rich espresso, and has notes of chocolate. shp555 (1693), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 4, 2007 341 mL bottle. Pour a rich dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma isn’t too strong, has a earthy coffee smell. Coffee is strong in the flavour, with a bit of a dark chocolate taste as well, but on the whole, less bitter than expected. Palate is clean, with moderate carbonation and a slight sourish finish. Overall, an interesting porter that is good for casual sipping. sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 3, 2007 12oz single bottle purchased direct from brewery. Pours a black that shows up as very dark copper under direct light. Some head but little carbonation visible. Light aroma of malts and coffee. True to its name, the first taste is coffee with a solid hit of malt. Finishes a bit sparkly on the tongue and the aftertaste does not linger long enough. Nice brew though. I’m enjoying this one, and I’m not much of a porter drinker.
