Commercial Description:
Our porter is rich and robust, dark brown in colour with a dark roasted coffee nose, imparting an intense coffee flavour with notes of chocolate. Made with beans supplied by the Distillery District’s Balzac’s Coffee, this porter offers a rich, full and unique flavour. Currently, there are no other coffee-flavoured beers in the Ontario market.

Bottled: A wonderful, lingering chocolate head, and with it a thick aroma of coffee, chocolate, smoke, and just a hint of spices. The taste is a lovely, full mix of excellent coffee and hints of chocolate malt, with just a touch of hops at the finish. Could stand to be a little more complex, but excellent overall.

wasn’t really impressed with this beer, found it a little flavourless...also, i have not found other mill street beers to be very tastey.

Drank in a lager glass. Poors a dark almost stoutish poor with a frothy light brown head. Aromas of roasted coffee beans, dark non-sweet chocolate nothing spectacular. Very distinct coffee flavors obviously... Slightly over carbonated maybe, a little acid with good bitterness. No real explosion in flavors, doesn’t have any real body to it... realy light

Bottle picked up at my local LCBO. One of the darkest beers ive ever seen, pitch black unless you hold it up to a light. The head dissapears quickly but leaves behind a nice creamy lacing. A heavy coffee and chocolate aroma, with notes of roasted malt, their is also a smell that reminds me of black beans or something. The flavor is interesting, but not amazing. Strong dark roast coffee flavor, malts are there but hiding in the finish. Hops are seem non existant. But I still really enjoyed this beer. Would reccomend it if your looking for something out of the ordinary.

Thick, black, strong in scent and looks. Roasted coffee and chocolate goodness. Very smooth and strong.

tap at vollo- pours deep brown nice lacing. smells espresso grinds, and not much else, some sweet malts but the espresso is overpowering. watery mouthfeel, tastes like a chilled coffee some fruit in the background. overall needs a bit more complexity i think to be a really good porter but not too shabby.

12oz bottle from a trade with radiomgb - thanks, Jeff! Nice dark body, very minimal head, and a huuuuge coffee aroma. I love it. Roasty malts and a fine coffee/choc blend in the body. There aren’t too many porter-ish qualities because the coffee presence is so strong, and the mouthfeel is a touch thin, but I still really enjoyed this. Compares favorably with thinner coffee stouts like Wake-n-Bake.

[094-20061104] Tap @ Mill St. (Toronto, ON). Smells like dark coffee. Dark brown body with a light brown foamy head. Dark, malty roasted old coffee, a little bitter. Feels like drinking dark coffee. Great togetherness.
