Aroma holds roasted malt, chocolate and coffee witht he latter being very concentrated. The body pours dark brown, but settles black and holds a two finger thick tan head which quickly compresses to pinky thickness. Fore is all coffee with mild chocolate in the middle and a sustained roastiness throughout. It’s on the thin side of the porter style, but the roastiness is such that it gives it a thickerfeel/taste than the body alone would. Has a nice roundness in the finish that is more a cocoa and cream coffee. Tasty if basic flavor wise. yarry (370), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

Pours a dark, dirty oil colour, with a small brown head. Smells mainly of hops with a mild coffee aroma. Taste is primarily coffee, with an aftertaste of.. coffee. One of those beers you will love or hate. And i love it. JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 10, 2006 Beige-brown head, over near black beer with vermillionred highlights, heavily carbonated. Dry ground coffee, coffee sweets, moccha, moccha ice. Anything but beer. Very sweet initially, chocolate-coffee, as a coffee sweetened by somebody who doesn’t like coffee. Hold it, then I ought to like it - but I don’t. Finishes drier, at least, whilst starting to display some adstringency. Aftertaste is dry coffee, bitter, circle closed. Rather well-bodied. Not my cup of coffee. jacktripper (20), Canada

Taste is a good balance of the above with a bit of brown sugar as well. Finishes nice with overtones of hops. A great dessert beer to be sure. beergut111 (210), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Smells of coffee, malts, and hops. Also has a sweet smell that fills the immediate area around me. Taste is heavy on the coffee side, in fact it feels like I am drinking a cold cup of coffee. Reminds me alot of Bells Java, though not as good, it is still excellent. My glass disappeared way too quick.
