Coffee dominates the nose with some roast in the background. Flavor is tons of coffee, roast and a bit of chocolate. A tad thin but if you like coffee in your beer, hit this for sure! | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Amazing how much flavor and smell gets packed into such a light crisp beer. My only complaint is that the smell keeps attacking you rather than enveloping and inviting you. Thank you Daknole. Beth101 (318), West Yorkshire, England

Nice black color, light aroma of coffee and dark malts but a lot more of the same in the flavor. I’m not a big coffee fan but this has lots of it and I’m liking it - the magic of beer! In the glass it looks like black coffee with a thin but foamy tan head leaving good lace on the sides. The aroma is a coffee-toffee-chocolate combo with toasted malt and an accent of sweet crystal malt in a grainy bouquet and a faint camphor-like innuendo. Full rich coffee-cocoa, sweet malt, and toasted malt flavor all together with just the right amount of sweetness to it to round out the flavor. A coffee-toffee-chocolaty aftertaste lingers briefly and then ends in a clean finish. Gorgeous! terrybail (339), London, Ontario, Canada

Malt flavour with strong coffee and chocolate notes. Seems full bodied, silky texture. Coffee flavour. Bitter earth finish. Nice porter chronictonic (404), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Bottle - pours deep brown with a frothy mocha head. Aroma is mild, roasted, some milkiness. Flavor and mouthfeel are a bit thin - bubbly, slightly sweet and sour. I don’t get any coffee flavor at all - unless you’re talking about some sort of mochafrappocapposugarymilkladenstarbuckscoffefrom hell sort of thing.
