Much like Alley Kat Brewing’s version of the style, Mill Street’s Coffee Porter comes on big and strong in the roasted coffee. However, the base Porter style is clearly well developed in this beer. As a rater, I can see the many good qualities of this beer, even though it’s not one of my favorites.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 22, 2009 355ml bottle. Pours the darkest brown, with a small head that diminished quickly. Mocha, Tootsie roll, and something buttery on the nose. Tastes of dark malts, molasses, burnt coffee. Slight sweetness, with a bitter finish. The "coffee" is definitely in the finish. One of my Canadian favourites. patricks110 (284), Alberta, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 5, 2009 I was expecting more. The aroma is like a hot cup of coffee, but the taste is like porter with some coffee poured into it. Pour is black with a medium tan head. Taste is malty with a bit of bitter coffee. I like it, but it could be better. stantheman (17), British Columbia, Canada

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Oct 23, 2009 This beer is lost on me. As I’m not a coffee drinker. But it was in the sampler pack and I hate seeing beer go to waste. Aroma is intense ground coffee. I do enjoy the smell of coffee and I just sat and enjoyed the aroma for a while. Taste is not as much coffee that I was expecting. It is somewhat subdued. There is more chocolate and malt which made drinking it palpable to me. thepegjett (94), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
