Bobsy (196), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 22, 2007 Updated: Dec 15, 2007A growler from the brewpub, shared with the inlaws. Sweet, bready aroma. Nice deep red body, with a frothy tan head. The flavour was oddly stout-like, with hints of coffee and roasted malts. Medium bodied and smooth, with decent carbonation. This is definitely one of Mill Street’s better brews. DougShoemaker (2560), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 27, 2007 Full leafy, hoppy nose, strong malt too, copper, pours a large short lived tan head. Big fruity hops flavour burst, red plums and other pitfruit, with a fine underpinning of malt. Very well balanced, nicely bitter. Terrific version! Sadly the last new beer by the former Brewmaster Michael Duggan. All good wishes for You Michael. GregClow (2318), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 22, 2007 Draught pint at Mill Street Brewpub. Burnt sienna colour (thanks to my wife for that description!) with a good sized dirty tan head. Nice aroma of mellow roasted malt, tobacco leaves, fresh bread and a bit of coffee. Medium bodied. Flavour is mellow as well, but nice, with toasted malt, some woodiness, a hint of smoke, and soft & pleasant hops. Quite nice stuff. mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 11, 2007 Growler. Pours a dark, copper-red body with a small white head. Slight cardboard notes amongst an otherwise caramel and sweet dough aroma. Tastes a bit nutty, metallic, and essentially weak in the flavour department. mabel (1583), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 26, 2007 [259-20070413] Growler (c/o tupalev, w/ him, blankboy, HogTownHarry, jerc, mds). Chocolate malt aroma with a sweet and milky rich quality. Clear, dark red body with a quick creamy white head. Tastes like bread soaked in chocolate mixed with a little booze. Creamy medium body. Nicely blended.
