A growler from the brewpub, shared with the inlaws. Sweet, bready aroma. Nice deep red body, with a frothy tan head. The flavour was oddly stout-like, with hints of coffee and roasted malts. Medium bodied and smooth, with decent carbonation. This is definitely one of Mill Street’s better brews.

Draught pint at Mill Street Brewpub. Burnt sienna colour (thanks to my wife for that description!) with a good sized dirty tan head. Nice aroma of mellow roasted malt, tobacco leaves, fresh bread and a bit of coffee. Medium bodied. Flavour is mellow as well, but nice, with toasted malt, some woodiness, a hint of smoke, and soft & pleasant hops. Quite nice stuff.

Growler shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, Jerc, MDS, and Mable, from the brewpub. Dark brown, small tan head. Nice malty aroma, hint of smoke. Good taste - nutty, lots of malt, lots of roast, hint of smoke. A really solid brown ale - similar to Hockley but with lees hops and more flavour. Good stuff Mill St.

Growler - from the BrewPub. Shared with blankboy, jerc, mabel, mds and tupalev - growler thanks to tupalev. Deep clear ruby, decent off-white head. Nice roasty, nutty sweet aroma, mild yet slightly peaty - nice. Solid brown ale taste, nutty, nice bittering in the finish. Average body, mild astringency and carbonation, pleasing and drinkable.

[259-20070413] Growler (c/o tupalev, w/ him, blankboy, HogTownHarry, jerc, mds). Chocolate malt aroma with a sweet and milky rich quality. Clear, dark red body with a quick creamy white head. Tastes like bread soaked in chocolate mixed with a little booze. Creamy medium body. Nicely blended.

1.89 L Growler, courtesy of my girlfriend Byn - pours a clear dark copper with a nice foamy off-white head. Aroma is sweetly malty, biscuity, but not without a certain amount of balancing woody hops. Very soft in the mouth - beautiful carbonation. Subdued English hopping in the flavour, as well as a twiggy bitterness near the very back of the palate that mingles with the faintest hint of citrus. Finishes with a caramel malt robustness. Slightly smoky as well. Overall, a soft, slightly spicy, earthy beer that makes it a perfect candidate for a growler, as it is superbly balanced and highly sessionable. This beer reminds me of a walk in the autumn woods. Good show.

Growler courtesy of Tupalev. Dark amber brown body with a moderate beige/tan head. Moderately roasty aroma with a bit of a strange undertone that I can not put my finger on. Lightly nutty, mildly roasty flavour. Mild malt and appropriate bitterness. Average palate. Serviceable - not bad.

Full leafy, hoppy nose, strong malt too, copper, pours a large short lived tan head. Big fruity hops flavour burst, red plums and other pitfruit, with a fine underpinning of malt. Very well balanced, nicely bitter. Terrific version! Sadly the last new beer by the former Brewmaster Michael Duggan. All good wishes for You Michael.
