garthicus (1215), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 27, 2009 Dry hopped and on cask at Volo cask days ramp up. Appearance: dark rusty orange with a small but lasting head. Aroma: bitter malt, damp wood. Flavour: nice muted dry malt, wood, a reasonable amount of hops in the finish. jimmay (179), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Oct 24, 2009 Growler from the brewery. Dark orange/brown. Nice head. Fruity, caramel nose. Went down well, good bitter finish. Not much in the flavour department, but a decent afternoon pint. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 22, 2009 Draft @ Mill Street (Toronto): Poured an amber color with a nice head. The aroma was bitter and sweet. The flavor was grass, earth, bitters and hops. Overall, easily drinking. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada May 9, 2009 On draft at Mill Street Brewpub. Deep amber in colour with medium carbonation. Fairly malty aromas along with notes of stewed berry fruit. More malt notes in the mouth, along with toffee, toasted nuts, more fruit, and a hint of grassy + earthy hops. Well balanced overall, with a fair bit of bitterness. A good effort, but plays a little too safe. AWS9 (221), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Mar 17, 2009 On tap at the Grad Club. Ruby brown, with a decent head. Simple but effective hops and caramel malt in the aroma. Bread, malt, and a slight grassy hop touch, with caramel and chocolate undertones. Smooth finish, though a little sticky and could use some bitterness. Quality brew. pootzboy (1035), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Mar 14, 2009 On tap from the MS pub:
Tapped a clear amber-orange with a decent cap.
Aromas: Caramel-bread-grassyness.
Flavor profile: Pretty much a replica of the way it smells...a nice bready-caramel chew of malt blalanced well with a grassy-herbal hop profile...light bitter finish...not the intense bittering of a Brit ESB but very approachable and sessionable. LadySusan (462), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada Feb 25, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. The color is amber with a thin beige head. The taste is of hops with some sweetness of fruits. Some malt but not to much. It has a nice bitter finish.
