Malty and a touch of fruit on first sip. Then a bit of hop bitterness to temper the sweetness. Goes down very very smoothly for such a strong brew. Sadly unavailable in bottles on the day... | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Tap- Pours an orangey/yellowish liquid topped with a foamy white cap. The aroma is really grassy with some fruit (oranges) and a spicy, bready nose as it warms a bit. Tastes of oranges, caramel and floral hops with a good bread/biscuit component leading to the finish. Just a bit of a bite to it. Pretty nice stuff. Bobsy (194), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Did not come with the frothy white head as advertised, but lest face it flavour is the main reason we should drink beer. Deep golden orange colour. Very subtle orange smell. Refreshing malty taste, with a bitterness that resembles grated orange peel. A decent beer, but nothing special. I also think they were advertising it as a lower percentage at the brewpub (more around 6%). crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Apr 7, 2007 Honestly I don’t know if this batch is off... but I had this straight from the brewpub and.. well.. It looked like a beer, golden in colour, minimal white head. But that’s where it stopped. Smelt like beery water, tasted like beery water. Sadly I have nothing to report other then avoid this beer. It’s not at all like the "bock" style that I’m used to. Yuck. LordBeamish (144), Boozetown, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 3, 2007 On tap at the Mill St. Brew Pub. Very interesting orange colour with a white head. I could really taste orange zest and some unidentified spices. Mild bitterness followed by a dry/alcohol finish. Very nice. Kind of like an Abbot’s Ale with a higher alcohol content. blankboy (3214), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2006 Draught at Bar Volo. Pours a clear bubbly orangey-gold with a small diminishing white head. Mildly sour aroma with some spices and caramel malt. Flavour of caramel malt, nuts, wood and a mild hop bitterness. Dry mouthfeel and thin bodied. Not sure if it’s still 7.2% this year or on tap but if it is, there’s no sign of the alcohol in there. Pretty good. HogTownHarry (4020), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Poured deep bright refractive copper with an average frothy head - very attractive. Aroma of roast hard candy malt with some sharp funky moss. Taste of caramel, malt, lots of grain, mild hop bitterness, a touch woody. Mouthfeel very dry, flat - overall a very drinkable fall ale, recommended. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Alcohol is nearly non-existent and is smooth and easy to drink. This is pretty well made.
