Commercial Description:
True IPA’s were high in both alcohol and hops to survive the long hot voyage from Britain to India. This makes it a big and flavour beer style. Our version is no exception. Traditional English malts and hops are used to give this copper brew a big flavour. This beer has a slightly roasted note with a strong hop bitterness and flavour.

On tap at the MS pub. Shimmering orange-amber with a substantial cap that lasts. Aroma of Pac-NW hops and some sweet bready malts, light woody tones. Malty-bready front side is well balanced with herbal-woody hop profile, finishes slightly more bitter with some pine-like alphas. Nice drinkable APA done with dry hopping.

On tap @ smokeless joes. Quite a ruby red body with a tiny off white head. Aroma of pine, malt, wheat. Flavour: quite malty again with a slight hop bite, roast nuts, pine and a dry lingering finish.

On tap at Brewpub. The color is amber not much head. A nice strong taste of hops with some malt added. Also added is a taste of berry fruits to give it some sweetnes. A good example off what an I.P.A. should taste like.

From the cask at the brewery. Big tobacco aroma with a bolder hop bitterness than from the keg (tried both). Complex English-style amber and caramel malts, with good hop bitterness, also from English style hops (fuggles?). Good hoppy finish. Very nice.

Golden-red colour. Very woody hop nose with some caramel. Dry, woody IPA with lots of centennial and cascade. Solid caramel backbone. Dry, slightly herbal, woody finish.

at brewpub. Red, clear, off-white head. Unexpected berries in nose. Not tasting totally fresh. Is more floral than hoppy in the aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Some hop is there in the aftertaste. It’s balanced and fruity but disappointing.

pint- also had the cask example at the brewery but this review will comment only upon the draft version. Rose petals/perfume like aroma that is faint and fleeting. first sip reveals a lot of sweetness, and semi-citrusy hops with little in the way of hop bitterness. Im not sure if the beer is underattenuated, or just sweet. It’s a decent and drinkable brew, but not a very good representative of the style.
