Commercial Description:
True IPA’s were high in both alcohol and hops to survive the long hot voyage from Britain to India. This makes it a big and flavour beer style. Our version is no exception. Traditional English malts and hops are used to give this copper brew a big flavour. This beer has a slightly roasted note with a strong hop bitterness and flavour.

Tap @ Brewpub. Faint smell of citrus hops, some malt, Orange, with a small tan head. Nice orangey flavour, followed by light malt. Light bodied, balanced, nicely bitter. Very nice, though it seems more like an english pale ale.

64oz growler from brewery. Pours a light-to-medium straw with some head that fades quickly. Decent lacing. Aroma is a wee bit hoppy, but disappointing. Taste follows to a similar level. It’s reasonable stuff, but packs nowhere near the flavour wallop that I would like. Best to stick with the Tankhouse from these guys. This one feels less hoppy than the Tankhouse, although the guy at the store thought that the IPA was slightly higher on the IBU scale, with the IPA around 50 and the Tankhouse near 45.

growler from the brewery. pours amber with a small white head that dissapates quickly but laces the glass nicely. aromas are hoppy and are much more pronounced as the beer warm. flavours are hoppy but not complex. very one dimentional. this is a good beer but its not mill streets best effort. there are better ipas out there.

Thick ecru film atop a coppery base with mild effervescence. Mild aroma with dry-mix lemonade, tea, uric notes and nobles. An English-style IPA with a bitter tea flavor accompanied by an alcoholic taste and astringence. Mild sticky notes to an otherwise dry palate. Not my favorite Mill Street brew today, possibly due to the brash alcohol presence. (Not that this is a high ABV beer, it’s simply doesn’t blend well.)

on tap at the brew pub. quite mild hoppy aroma, i was expecting more. flavour is more hoppy, the hops are more pronounced, they seem to be fuller in the flavour. finish is bitter, but not as bitter as i would like. a pretty tame IPA

Growler from the brewery courtesy of tupalev -- thanks Jeff! Pours a clear bright orange-copper with an average size diminishing creamy off-white head. Aroma of mild herbal hops and caramel malt, a little spicy -- nice but a bit too mild. Spicy herbal hops come through much more in the flavour, nicely backed by caramel malt along with a hint of grain and a decent long bitter finish. Nice medium body. A simple IPA but it’s pleasant and easy to drink, it’s certainly better then many of the other so called "IPAs" we have here.

Aroma: mildly hoppy nose, sweet malt character behind, hints of spice. Aroma was not typical to IPA , a bit subdued
Appearance: amber with small thick creamy head.
Mild, smooth medium full bodied. Spicy bitter hops. Character of this bitter ale was more of British counterparts than North American. Pleasantly warming, clean with hop presence long lasting. All this in full bodied wrap.

On tap @ the brewery. Dark orange medium off white head. Hoppy, citrusy aroma with some malty notes as well. Citrus flavour to start off with some malt and grains coming through near the end complimenting the medium bitter hoppy finish. I expected more hops but overall a decent IPA.
