Sledge Jr (2708), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 22, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy blonde yellow with a medium white head. Has a great Saaz aroma. Reminds me of an Urquell. Incredible bolus of hop bitterness up front, then the beer just whimpers away. Very authentic and true to style.
Rastacouere (5258), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Aug 10, 2008 Objectively speaking:
A bland take on a great style.
I like:
Clean, but…
I dislike:
Completely lacking the hop punch, the malt intricacies or the freshness of the good examples. Nuance-less generic blond lager which aims at the masses with its generic Bio tag.
dangermoose (8), Canada does not count Dec 24, 2007 Overall, this beer is a disappointing experience. It came, on draft, with no head and not appearing significanlty different than a glass of Allen’s apple juice. No, head and very little carbonation. Sleeman clear was also on tap that night and I might as well have ordered that. The flavor was faint...a slightly beery taste and that’s it. probstk (644), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Dec 2, 2007 222 ml bottle in the “Ont. Craftbrewers 6-pack” from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass. NO23/07
App.: Bright golden-yellow, clear, small white head; no pesticide colours.
Aroma: Grain and cereal, corn, hints of light peppery hops; no pesticide notes.
Palate: Medium-light body, slightly astringent, fairly full carbonation; no pesticide feel.
Flav.: More grain and cereal, maybe a touch of herbal hops, dry, mineral/thin aftertaste; no pesticide flavours.
Cute bottle. Try adding some malathion or permethrin for flavour. robinvboyer (980), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jun 30, 2007 on tap at the brewpub. meh, its a Pils, nothing to see here. refreshing, a good summer beer for aftermowing your lawn, but meh, pretty uneventful.
