Commercial Description:
This continental lager has a deep golden hue, a giant rocky white head and a malty sweet nose. The first taste is sweet, but leads to a dry, hoppy bitter finish in the German Style. Mill Street Organic Pilsner is an excellent accompaniment to food or an excellent thirst quencher on its own.

341ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a dark gold with a fluffy white head that had good retention and good lacing. Aroma of floral hops. At first, it tasted a bit malty and grassy, but about halfway through the glass, the hops came out to play, leaving a nice, bitter finish. I’d like to see six packs of this.

Smells crisply of lagered malt, like a proper pilsner, only its quite faint as comparied to the european pilsners. Needs more finishing hops. It definately nails the redness button, but is completely boring to look at otherwise. A nice bit of fizz in the mid to late palate but again, that is it. This is a pretty good domestic pilsner, I would say it needs more sharpness across all the ranges before it could be a REAL pilsner, though.

Bottle ( 341ml ). Purchased at the brewpub. Deep clear ruby-amber with a very large fizzy-foamy off-white lasting head (3+). Classic fresh grassy bitterness, mild fresh grain malt, a little toastier than I expected - quite clean. The taste follows, fresh grain, not as grassy, a bit better balanced; slightly soapy. Light body, dry, mildly carbonated, leaves a light iron aftertaste - by Canadian pils standards this is pretty friggin great, although it’s a bit watery, and I’d like some more oomph in the taste from those strong grassy aroma hops.

Pretty run of the mill Pilsner. Nice hop taste with a fine bitterness. Nothing amazing, but better than most.

On tap at brewpub. Pours golden in colour, with decent off-white head. Mild hop aroma, taste starts sweet and finishes perhaps a little hoppy for the style, but I realy enjoyed it! Great Pilsner!

bottle. Poured clear dark copper colour with a moderate fluffy off-white head. Sweet floral hop aroma. Smooth medium bodied, grassy/herbal flavour. Sweet and malty up front and finishes with just enough spicy bitterness.

Bottle. Pours burnt sienna, with a thin white head and spotty lacing. Nose is solidly malty, though a bit too toffeeish, plus nice gentle hoppiness. Palate is soft and sweet. Better than some Pilseners I’ve had, but nothing terribly special.

Hey, wow, a beer from mill street that doesn’t make me want to cry. Smells of wet grass and light hops, pours a nice golden amber color, and actually has flavour! I know, mill street beer with flavor! wth?? Has a nice bitter taste, toasted white bread, and hops, both on the palate and after-palate. Really nice for a pilsener.
