Spab (234), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 6, 2009 Draught at Volo. Pours a slightly cloudy red/orange with good-sized fairly lasting off-white head. Nose is pretty strong on the raspberries, found it more tart than sweet. Flavour is pretty prominently raspberry but with some hoppy dryness. Certainly one-note but it’s a decent though not great note for a summer sipper. cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada May 15, 2009 16oz draught

II tried this beer on on tap on May 14, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a slightly translucent solid red with a short lived tan head that laced. The aroma was grainy malt, raspberries, and sweaty socks. The mouthfeel was weak bodied (almost watery) with medium-high carbonation. The flavour was tart raspberries, green apples, metallic steel and some malt. Not a beer I will try again PaulHegedus (458), Georgetown, Ontario, Canada May 9, 2009 Draught at the brewpub. This is red in the glass with a small white head. The aroma has lots of sugary raspberry juice in it. The mouthfeel is light to medium. The flavour is fairly one dimensional: raspberry, sugar, candy. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Sep 19, 2008 Reddish-orange colour w/ a thick head. Deep raspberry syrup aroma. Somewhat lifeless on the palate, with raspberry syrup versus crackerlike malts. Probably too much hop dryness in the finish. Not objectionable, but certainly sub-par. Beershine (2677), Hue, Vietnam Sep 18, 2008 Draught at brewery. Lovely ruby hue, mostly clear, big white head and scattered lacing, served in tulip. Aroma of crushed raspberry but smells too simple. It is simple, straightforward, and decent. Not complex but not too sweet either, so it’s alright. DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 7, 2008 Growler purchased from MS has been lurking in my fridge for months! Screw-cap jug pours a nice solid, clear red hue with fine carbonation under a tall & delicate pinkish-white cap.. Big lingering aroma of raspberries and berry seeds (especially when it warms a bit.) Taste is tart raspberry & has the perfect amount of fruit sweetness, good body, palate is nice, solid wheat malt structure & fittting touches of hops - what a balancing act. The beer is a touch medicinal in the bitter raspberry aftertaste, which reminds me of the berry seeds but it’s not offensive. In fact I drank most of the growler today, and it’s VERY sessionable & a great value IMO. hopson (591), Williamsville, New York, USA Jul 21, 2008 draft at brewpub. cloyingly sweet with strange wild/wine types yeast esters going on. Very un-enjoyable. gilvanblight (390), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Jul 20, 2008 Dark red pour with a foamy and clingly head. Strong berry scent. Very fruity taste, suprisingly strong. Not too sweet though, more tart. A nice summer beer, very refreshing and not as sweet as most fruit beers.
