hopson (469), Williamsville, New York, USA Jul 21, 2008 draft at brewpub. cloyingly sweet with strange wild/wine types yeast esters going on. Very un-enjoyable. gilvanblight (338), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Jul 20, 2008 Dark red pour with a foamy and clingly head. Strong berry scent. Very fruity taste, suprisingly strong. Not too sweet though, more tart. A nice summer beer, very refreshing and not as sweet as most fruit beers. Sledge Jr (2708), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 22, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Reddish amber in color with a big off-white head. The bartender described it as such: "Basically the wit recipe with tons of raspberries." Works for me. Has a big candy-like raspberry aroma. Up front, there’s a big acidic tartness that segues into a strong raspberry fruit flavor without ever getting sweet! This is not a sour beer, just not as candy sweet as the aroma would suggest. Actually, there’s some biscuit to the aroma. So, this reminds me of a cobbler. This tastes very Belgian and is outstanding, as I really don’t care much for the style even. Cartoon_khaki (1110), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Jun 8, 2008 A bit of pink in the ruddy looking amber orangy beer. Head had a bit of pink but was more so white. The aroma was weak with a little fruit but hardly noticeable. The flavour was equally as weak. The beer wasn’t offensive but it seems that there could be something added to it to perk it up. More raspberry would be nice but not to the point of being cloying. Sammy (3020), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 5, 2008 Pink mucous-like, sampled at the brewpub. Neither bitter nor sweet, rather dry. Sugar, not getting the "rea raspberries" as marketed. Need a beer to wash away. Aroma of raspberry as ask in to some frozen soy concotion. Chick summer beverage for people who hate the taste of (macro-lager) beer.
