Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Sparkling Ale (6/05)
A golden export-style ale made from only malt and hops, no fillers or adjuncts. A brillant golden colour gives a “sparkling” appearance as the gas escapes from the glass. The natural sweetness of the malt is perfectly balanced by the bitterness derived from the hops. This beer represents the way blonde ales were made 100 years ago.

Bleh. No distinguishing things about this beer. Pale straw colour, nearly odorless, almost tasteless. Non-offending taste. This won’t piss off anyone, but it won’t inspire anyone either.

On tap at the brewery, slight hazy yellow gold hue, with a white head, light citrusy tone, pale malt nose, with a grainy, bready, spicy accent, with a faint honey cookiness, and a hint of floral hop lemony in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, zesty, citrusy, honeyed pale, biscuity malt character, with a light flowery hop leafy grapefruit note, leading towards a lemony, zesty finish.

Nearly odorless, what is there is sickly sweet, and malty like a domestic pale lager. Tastes like a pale lager. Wait a minute... is this a domestic pale lager in disguise?

bottled 5%. Poured clear gold with a vanishing white head. A fairly grainy aroma. Light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet and lightly malty almost watery. Slightly dry finish and I think I taste hickory smoke. Alot lighter than I like my ales.

Bottle from LCBO (Toronto, ON). Pours a clear yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma is light with notes of honey, spice, light floral esters. Flavor is also light with similar notes of honey, spice, grass, bread. Generally light body with very light finish.

Malty and a little sweet. Doesn’t have much on your average macro. Refreshing but won’t buy it again,

Pours golden yellow with a very fizzy head. The aroma is slightly bitter with nites of toffee and a sweet malty character.Flavour is slightly sweet, and very malty. The toffee flavour linger slightly. Not bad.
