Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Sparkling Ale (6/05)
A golden export-style ale made from only malt and hops, no fillers or adjuncts. A brillant golden colour gives a “sparkling” appearance as the gas escapes from the glass. The natural sweetness of the malt is perfectly balanced by the bitterness derived from the hops. This beer represents the way blonde ales were made 100 years ago.

Malty and a little sweet. Doesn’t have much on your average macro. Refreshing but won’t buy it again,

Pours golden yellow with a very fizzy head. The aroma is slightly bitter with nites of toffee and a sweet malty character.Flavour is slightly sweet, and very malty. The toffee flavour linger slightly. Not bad.

341ml bottle from the LCBO. Pour is medium yellow, with a quickly dissapating head. It says on the bottle it isn’t made with any adjuncts, but all you can taste or smell is corn and rotten veggies. I have no idea why they make this, and even less idea who buys it, considering the otherwise very solid lineup from this brewery.

Hmmm. Well, i guess its better to be drinking local ontario fizz than mass market american fizz brewed in brazil. But thats essentially what this is. I wont try another.

Draft @ Mill Street: Poured a golden color with not much head. The aroma was almost not there. The flavor was drinkable but really not too much to write about. Its an average golden ale.

Cask@Miil Street Brewery Brewpub, Toronto. Golden beer with a plainly dry aroma, and a yeasty, smokey, roasted and quite well hopped beer. Overall a yeasty, complex smokey and roasted beer.

Bottle. Golden with a thick white head and very little carbonation. Malty aroma has some grassy hops. Head retention is pretty good. Mouthfeel is spritzy and light to medium. The flavour is full of grain with some bread. Finish is short.

After having the pitiful Mill St. Organic I have my doubts, but after one sip I know there is nothing to worry about. Standard gold in colour with a one finger rocky white cap that survives just above a skim thoughout. Smell is pretty good but there is still some stank to this beer. It’s pretty much all grain but not grassy - some sweetness. Taste is missing any extra bitterness - thank that figurehead that people throw money at! This is a very drinkable brew. Comes across empty and bland but what is there is mainly sliced bread - yes, I have distinguished between sliced and non-sliced bread. Some typical Canadain bitterness. Light bodied, mildly carbonated, no middle, leaves the mouth on the dry side. Bitterness is there, yummy belch! Drinkable in mass quantity. Nice to have a blonde ale that is not heavily hopped, if you’d want it.
