Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Sparkling Ale (6/05)
A golden export-style ale made from only malt and hops, no fillers or adjuncts. A brillant golden colour gives a “sparkling” appearance as the gas escapes from the glass. The natural sweetness of the malt is perfectly balanced by the bitterness derived from the hops. This beer represents the way blonde ales were made 100 years ago.

Bottle. Pours straw gold with a decent white head. Aroma of yeast malt and cereals, this carries through to the inital taste but gives way to a slight bitter finish. A nice balance overall and not too complex. I picutre this beer being a superior alternative to the Corona-type beers. I look forward to re-trying this during a hot summer day.

355ml bottle -clear bottle. Aroma is bready and sweetly malty. Didn’t really pick up any hops. Flavour is very sweet and actually reminded me quite a bit of apple juice. Very little hops to provide any bitterness or contrast. Smooth, but I found the flavour quite cloying and mostly unpleasant. Not something I’d pick up for myself. Needs hops and less apple juice malt. This is probably my least favourite Mill St. offering, including even their Organic Lager.

355 ml bottle - pours pale gold - it’s in a clear bottle though, so you already know that. Nice white head that slowly fades and leaves nice lace. Bready malt aroma with some subtle hops. Flavour similar to aroma, subtle, sweetly malty, clean. Not much in the way of hops - perhaps some Goldings. Far too cloying to be sessionable.

Clear golden yellow body with slight, quickly dissipating head. Aroma has a toasted bread likeness. The flavor is altogether malty with a fruity tincture brought about by some quality hops with a rounded finish. The mouthfeel was somewhat lacking in consistency. Overall, I am still of the opinion that you cannot go wrong with Mill St. offerings, however this beer is not my favorite of theirs.

[092-20061104] Tap @ Mill St. (Toronto, ON). Smells like strawberries. Clear, yellow body with a quick white head. Fruity sweet strawberry flavour. Light body, nice mouthfeel. Good fruity togetherness.

A lightly hazed pale gold ale with a thin white head. Lightly skunked lemony malt aroma. In mouth, a dry malt with macro profile, uninteresting. Bought at LCBO in November 2006.

This ale poured aclear light yellow colour with a white frothy head. To the nose...kind of typical. Usual scents...corn, sweet hop smell. First sip was sweet and a little watery. Very corn flavoured. The palate was very sweet. Non original.
