| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 4, 2008 Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Amber color. Earthy, oily citric hopaaroma. Earthy hopbitter flavor, citric with licorice. Blackcurrant. Longish aftertaste. Hint of metal in the finish. The balance could be better, but this is a tasty ale. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Updated: Sep 27, 2008Bottle. Clear dark copper with short white foamy head. Hoppy aroma. As aroma suggests, taste is a great blend of hops and malts that leads to a bubbly, creamy dry (but not too dry) ale. altonbrownd (1959), Amsterdam, Netherlands

Nice smooth ale. Lots of malt flavours. Quite spicy too. Prickly to the tongue. Really enjoyable. Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Pours a clear copper with tons of rising bubbles and a finger of dense, off-white head. that leaves behind patchy lace. The nose is of biscuity malt and earthy hops; pleasant but fairly uninspiring. Light to medium-bodied, soft and slick with a moderately bitter finish. The flavor is considerably more impressive than the aroma would indicate. Pale malt with an interesting blend of spicy and earthy hops; similar to an ESB only a bit spicier. This one is pretty darn tasty; a very solid, quaffable session brew. I only wish that I had more than this one bottle. hopson (595), Williamsville, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2008 bottle- not surprised at all to see this rated so highly. It was tried at the end of my evening, and my palate, though shot, still enjoyed at lot of hop flavor, and significant grain bill complexity. steyrman (12), TORONTO, Ontario, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 19/20 | Feb 29, 2008 A beer with bite! There’s a lot of hops crammed into Tankhouse and I find too few beers have that kind of a flavourful punch to them.
A repeater, for sure.
