Commercial Description:
Like traditional pale ales, Tankhouse Ale has a deep copper-red colour. We use five different malts to produce a complex malty texture. The most dominant character of our Pale Ale is the hop. The spicy Cascades is used to give an assertive hop flavour, aroma and bitterness to our ale. The result is a satisfying and complex-tasting beer. Our brewmaster developed this recipe 20 years ago and it has remained his favorite drink of choice

Whisky bronze with a holding ecru head, lacing well. Rye & oregano sharp off the top. Low vegetal notes and mild malts all make for a "soupy" aroma. An odd herbal hoppiness to the flavor when I was half-expecting citrics (but I suppose I’m a long haul away from the Pacific Northwest). Rye comes out but malts and a touch of yeast create a sweet rye-bread character. Nice.

Beer pours dark amber with a nice head. It shows nice notes of hops and then gives a deep hop and bitter flavor. Finishes nice and smooth!

Light brown in colour, small creamy head. Aroma of sweet malt and some hops. Tastes like an IPA - very hoppy indeed! Pale & crystal malts, some slight roastiness in there, too. Wonderful hoppy aftertaste - 5 hops varieties? Fuggles must be in there somewhere... Appropriate body with decent carbonation. Very nice beer, reminds me of Phillips Amnesiac. Many thanks to Robin for the trade!

Pours a dynamic reddish copper with a dense off-white head with good carbonation. The aroma has musty caramel malt and some pale malt. There are also some spice hops noticed, but they are muted by all the malt. Medium body with a velvety feel at first then some semi-soft carbonation that is on the crisp side. The flavor starts with some somewhat dark malt and spiced hops with pine. the finish has mainly spicy and woody hops with some apparent malt. Overall a nice APA. Big thanks to radiomgb for sending this my way.

Bottle with thanks to RagallachMC. Clear reddish orange with a small head. Aroma of piney and spicy hops along with caramel and roasted grains. Moderately bitter with spicy, sweet toasted grains and earth. Bitter finish. Unique and very nice.

Bottle. This is my favourite pale ale. Great colour and very complex. Might overwhelm novice beer drinkers but is a nice treat when you need something different.
