Commercial Description:
Like traditional pale ales, Tankhouse Ale has a deep copper-red colour. We use five different malts to produce a complex malty texture. The most dominant character of our Pale Ale is the hop. The spicy Cascades is used to give an assertive hop flavour, aroma and bitterness to our ale. The result is a satisfying and complex-tasting beer. Our brewmaster developed this recipe 20 years ago and it has remained his favorite drink of choice

Pours a clear reddish brown with a nice white head. Aroma is fairly hoppy, with a bit of an outdoorsy nature smell. Aroma also contains a small tinge of apricot. Flavor is a bit spicy, with fairly strong hops that were present in the aroma. Finishes a bit bitter, but in a quick, clean sort of way. Overall, a nice beer with some unique characteristics. One of my local favourites.

Finally a Pale Ale that has it right. The copper color full of nice Co2 (Bubbles until the Glass is empty). The nice bold taste of Cascade hops create a flavor explosion that is far from boring.

Hoppy grainy aroma, dark amber body, short lived head, but good creamy lacing is left behind. A pretty good looking beer, much better than I expected. The taste is really brilliant, very good quality. Very hoppy flavour as to be expected, theres a bit of malty toffee and biscuit to balance the whole thing and a bit of a bitter bite on the palat at the end their. I would certainly recommend it.

[093-20061104] Tap @ Mill St. (Toronto, ON). Hoppy aroma. Clear, dark amber body with a medium-foamy off-white head and bubbles along the outer rim. Quite a clean and distinct hoppy, grainy flavour. Medium body that may be ascerbic. Beautiful colour! (6/5/7/3/14) 3.5

[1802B-20081017] Cask. Slightly farty hops aroma with mild smoky earth and an off floralness. Slightly hazy, amber brown body with a long-lasting bubbly off-white head. Mild tea and smoky earth and green green hops continues in the flavour. Medium body. Extra green is not extra great. (6/3/7/3/12) 3.1

great hoppy aroma, lots of citrus, and apricot. Flavour is extremely well balanced between the citrus of the hops, and the very nice malty backbone. Superb session beer, very flavourful, i’m so happy i can get this on a regular basis.

Deep orange-amber, a little hazy with an orange-tinged head. Aromas of citrus oils and soft fruit with some woody notes. These features carry over nicely into the palate, although I found it to be a little thin and overly carbonated. Still very enjoyable.

Bottle, from trade with radiomg. Ok aroma, lite caramel, cardboard, stale wheat bread. Clean brownish orange color, ok head that faded quickly. Bittersweet flavor, grainy. Honey, cardboard mainly. Little nutty yeastiness too. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Ok, doesn’t offend, doesn’t inspire to have another. Thanks radiomg.

I think this beer deserves higher credential than it is getting. I absolutely loved it. Gorgeous beer with a very minimal head. Poured a reddish copper hue. Nose invited me in and the taste blew me away. In my experience from the Coffee Porter, I was expecting something equally unsatisfying, but was I wrong! Not the most complex beer. Hints of chocolate and coffee linger in the finish. Very easy to drink and very satisfying. Just a tad bit watery. Would definitely buy again!
