I’d file this one as a Pale Lager. Clear gold in color with a nice foamy, 1/3" white head. Kind of a musky aroma with a nice pils hop profile. Smoother and more balanced that expected. Sweet malts balance the pils hop profile along with a lemon biscuit flavoring. A little grain and corn starch bring it back down to earth. As a pale lager, it’s one of the style’s bests.

Gold color with no head. Aroma is slightly reminicent of hops. The taste is very vague, but seemed to be some grains with a dry finish.

Had this on draught in South Barrington, Illinois. For a pale ale, I was left wanting. Not particularly hoppy in the nose or the taste, but more balanced than I’m used to. Copper color, thin head. Smooth, almost bland finish. Not bad, but not a good example of the type.

On tap at brewery. Too bland, there’s not much to this beer. I’d expect stronger hops and more complexity. What I got was less hops, more bread. Standard color and head.

This was a light brown slightly grainy malt containing ale. The hops were there in a slightly grassy mode to balance the malt. Nothing impressive, but worth drinking.

Looks just like the Prairie Pils. Light straw color with a modest white head. Hints of grain and pale malt. Sweet grain, some light fruit and light herbal hops flavors. Very much like the pils, but brewed with an ale yeast.

Draft at Millrose Restaurant and Brewing Co. Off-white head with poor retention, transparent pale yellow body, very little carbonation, and very little lacing. The aroma was malty, grainy and next to no hops. Ditto for the flavor. Smooth mouthfeel and light bodied. This is an APA?? Where are the hops??

Bronze in color with no head. Like the other beers that I had of thiers the nose is faint and watery. There is just a bit of hops in it tho. THe taste does have some hop characteristics to it but there is definately quite a bit of like barley. Almost flat in taste and character. After reading what Cornfield had to say I wonder if this was a bad batch. Whatever.
