Had this on draught in South Barrington, Illinois. Clear, dark reddish color with a moderate white head, nose of baked bread and some chocolate notes, some peanuts and caramel in the taste with a somewhat dry afterfeel . Not bad.

Deep copper over pale mahogany, a small, tan head leaves slippery lace. Roasted grain aroma, almost burnt, with light caramel and milk chocolate. Flavor is mild sweetness along with thorough nuttiness and more chocolate notes to finish. Carbonation left an inappropriate crisp feeling and a gassy aftermath.

My bottle sez this is contract brewed by Capital Brewing, so it would be fun to sit down with this next to Capital’s Munich Dark.

Translucent chestnut brown in color with no head. Aroma is a light malt settlement, consisting of caramel, Munich, chocolate and roasted malts and the respective qualities indicative of each. Nutty flavor with some mild caramel and toffee sweetening. A small, distant accent of cocoa and a hint of acidity skid by barely noticed. Chestnuts do a little dance, and unsalted, lackluster walnuts take over to finish the show. A very light rendition.

On tap at the brewery. Some hints of bread on the nose, dark coppery-redish color. A bit dry, but not bad.

Draft at Millrose Restaurant. Small tan head with good retention, transparent orange body, no carbonation observed, and very little lacing. The aroma was sweet, caramel, malty, and toffee notes. The flavor was malty, caramel, sweet, hint of chocolate, toffee, hint of nuts, and semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel was tingly and this is a thin, light bodied beer. A rather boring Dunkel as it lacked real character and is easily forgettable.

Dark copper color with a smallish off-white head. Light caramel and roasted pecan aromas. Light, nearly watery feel. Fairly clean. A thin dark lager.

Dark red with a small white head. Light coffee, roasty aroma. Sweet flavor, stale malty finish. Bland with a capital B.

Pour is light and clear amber with a thin off white head...smell is toasty and sweet....taste is caramel sweet with a faint grainy sweetness...a little cloying....
