| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 22, 2006 Sampled at the Milwaukee YEHa!05 courtesy of JPDIPSO: Pours a still transparent copper amber. Sweet malty caramel aroma has a touch of grapes and vinous character with some bocky German yeastiness. Starts sweet with sticky caramel and lightly fruity with a good, authentic bock flavor and a clean, tasty, green Hallertau hop flavor. A little more carbonation and this would be quite nice. It’s a shame that this is the strongest thing that can be legally brewed in Iowa. JPDIPSO (4906), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 20, 2005 Dark copper with a small off white head. Maple syrup and brown sugar aromas. Mostly sweet and malty. Normally that is not a bad thing but that seems to be the only thing going on in this on. Not much for depth or balance. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA

Mahogany, light head and lacing. Nose of sweet grassy hops, some malts and molasses. Sweet rich flavor, nice aged and pleasant. The finish is sweet, lightly hoppy and a toffee and caramel finish along with the balanced sweetness. Good. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2005 Updated: Aug 21, 2005Pours a dark brown that looks ruby when held to the light. Almost no head. The aroma jumps out and grabs you with chocolate, dark bread and some raisins. There is also a light coffee note. The taste is caramel and some light chocolate and coffee. There is also a light plum note in the finish. Slightly undercarbonated. And this was after the brewery waited several weeks to release due to it being bottle conditioned. On the sweeter end of dopplebocks. I hope Iowa changes the abv laws so that Millstream is free to experiment with more beers like this. BBB63 (4232), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 19, 2005 Tasted at the Tosa YeHA 2005 and provided via Heemer77, I figured:
Slightly hazed brown with reddish highlights with a minimal head and lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, prune, apple, butterscotch (but a good thing here), brown sugar and earthy yeast esters. the taste is sort of cloy, sticky sweet malts and ripe fruit with a yeast background. Not much sharpness or hop notes. The feel is quite average, sticky and smooth. It is okay really but does not make much of a lasting statement. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 23, 2006 Poured a clear amber color with a red hue and thin off-white creamy head. Aroma of raisins and plums. Swwet and malty. The flavor was on the dull side. Sweet and malty with some dark fruit but really just blah. Some bitterness on the finish.
