Commercial Description:
The 'oatmeal' in the name is due the 10% oatmeal in the the grist of this brew. Oats give beer a real thick mouthfeel, something definitely desirable in a stout! But the real secret is in our lager yeast. Most stouts are made using ale yeast, but we wanted ours to be a smooth as our lagers! Black malt and roasted barley give the beer its color, and coffee-like flavors.

Looked good. Black with a small brown head. Aromas of coffee, malted chocolate, vanilla, caramel. Faint, however. Medium bodied and too much carbonation. Flavor was unimpressive. A bit too bitter.

Dark brown/black pour… creamy tan ring of a head. Dry roasty aroma with a lingering hint of a sweet background. Sweet, roasty flavor that grows on you. Some coffee covered and brown sugar sweetened oatmeal. It isn’t the best and could be a little less watery, but its okay.

Growler from the brewery. Pours black with a small, brown head. Aroma of coffee and some bitter chocolate. Taste follows the aroma, with a dry finish. Not bad, but nothing really special, either.

bottle-I dont know what i had, but what i did have was a fantastic stout for shure! black with a fizzy kacki colored head. nice head retention all through the time i was drinking the beer. aroma is roasty, nutty, light dusty ester, with some malt sweetness. flavrs are chocolate, roast, char, milk chocolate, baking chocolate with some light burnt notes as well, light body but not watery. lager yeast? kinda wierd. Whatever it is, its underated!

Pour is a very black with a tan head. Aroma is faint whifs of chocolate and malts. Flavor is bitter coffee with a chocolate quality. Finishes bland and watery. Looks good and smells good but in the end its just not thick enough to be a stout.

Aroma is like a casked malt, reminded me of a wet brewery floor, color was dark opaque brown, chocolate buntrt coffe taste. Body was surprisingly thin, has a lager crispness. I don’t think the lager yeast is a good idea

"pours out a dark dark brown with brown head that lasted no time. Has a roasted smell. Has a very strong bite to it and a differnt taste then other oatmeal stouts."
