| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 29, 2008 I just tried this one recently and was thorougly impressed. although my palate had been slightly worn throughout the weekend, I was still able to notice the dark, rich chocolate malts and soft sweet texture of the beer. The colour was dark brownish black that carried a large tan head. Aroma was nutty sweet, of oatmeal and raisins. IDunno19 (78), Ames, Iowa, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 16, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured clear, deeper brown with a short-lived cap of tan head. The aroma picked up sweeter chocolates and lightly-toasted oats with a bit of milky sweetness behind.. simple, but solid. The flavor had sticky roasted black patent malts at the core with milk chocolate and oats spreading outward.. super-sweet and a touch buttery on the finish with a light coffee bitterness. Sweet and medium-bodied on the palate with smooth carbonation (but a little too much of it).. sticky, not very enjoyable finish. This was OK. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Aroma of mild roast, chocolate, molasses, and toffee. Tastes of debittered roast, chocolate, toffee, and oatmeal. Medium to full bodied with spritzy caronation. I thought this was a good stout, certainly underrated. hillfiiiiire (286), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
