It could have been that it was the 20th beer I tasted but it seemed to stand out in the crowd. Good light brown head. Solid roasted flavor. Very smooth and drinkable. hayduke (1664), Eureka, California, USA

Poured very black with a fat and long lasting head. Nose is roasted malts and not much else. Mouthfeel was rich and creamy. Flavor is mostly malt again with chocolate and coffee. Gets a little sweet at the finish. I have a feeling you either like this or you don;t. I like it. Cappadonna (104), Delray Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 25, 2006 Pours thick black with little carbonation or head. Pleasant aroma of toffee and chocolate with plenty of malt undertones. The flavor has immediate sweet notes of chocolate and coffee, followed by a mild bitterness- very well balanced. Smooth mouthfeel. I’m surprised this beer isn’t rated higher. Saarlander (1579), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA

Very smooth, easy drinking stout, a nice mouthfeel to this one, with a dry aftertaste, solid stout, pretty good! Thanks to Duane for the bottle! OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2006 12oz bottle via trade with Duane! - Thanks Duane! - Pours dark brown with a large tan head that stays well and laces the sides of the glass. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, and maybe a little oatmeal. Flavor is roasted coffee, some milk chocolate. The oats seem to give this some texture and make the body a little chewy. Finish is somewhat dry.. Pretty drinkable stout.. why are the ratings so low? I enjoyed it. Pailhead (2603), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Bottle: Courtesy of Duane via trade. Aroma has lots of roasted grain, chocolate, and roasted coffee. Pours a dark brown with barely some orange hilights along the edges of the glass. Small tan head fades quickly and leaves very little lacing. Chocolate and roasted grain up front with a light bitter coffee finish. Mouthfeel is a little thin and rather fizzy for a stout. Maybe not the best stout, but 2.8 seems a little low. It’s not that bad. JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 5, 2006 A stout-lager they say? This is a decent beer. Basically a lightly carbonated oatmeal/chocolate/coffee stout. Just a little grit, but it is fairly thick and has a nice brown head. Prominent chocolate aroma and choco-coffee flavor. ph0tik (71), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2006 Pours very dark with a nice creamy brown head. Smells more like a porter than a stout. The flavor doesn’t show until after you have swallowed with strong coffee notes and it leaves the mouth dry. It’s decent.
