The aroma has notes of sweet malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and lots of caramel, almost caramel soup, making it a bit cloying towards the finish. The body is a bit light. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Pours an opaque dark brown with an orange hue and a small light brown head. Sweetish aroma of hard roasted malt. Quite full-bodied for such a low ABV beer with plenty of sweetish roasted malts a whiff of coffee and an edge of dried fruits. Has a light malt bitterness in the finish. 220808 yespr (12414), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Aroma is moderately sweet, chocolate, caramel, some cherry, butter, light coffee. Taste is medium sweet, chococoffee, some roast, light burnt. Watery medium body. Despite its unusualness, by no means is this a bad beer. hopdog (5614), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a dark, dark brown (almost black) color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of oats, chocolate, some roastiness, and coffee. Tastes of some oatiness, chocolate, and lighter coffee. I thought this one smelled pretty damn good and was somewhat let down with the tastes (on the weaker and thin side). hopscotch (5540), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Nov 29, 2004 An Oatmeal Stout lager? Hmmm? Pitch black lager. The nose releases wafts of vanilla, milk chocolate, coffee, cola and buttermilk. The flavor is pure chocolate buttermilk. This bottle just has to be infected. So very pungent, but other raters have stated the same. Very tart and lightly chocolatey. Medium-bodied a dry mouthfeel with fizzy carbonation. Short, sour finish. I really like sour beers, but I can’t imagine the brewer actually intending this sort of pungency in an oatmeal stout. The commercial description concurs. Bigtime points deducted for flavor. I can’t really say pass up on this beer as another bottle may be much better than mine.
