I have never had oatmeal stout like this. The coffee and chocolate taste with the smoky aroma is a great combination. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA

It could have been that it was the 20th beer I tasted but it seemed to stand out in the crowd. Good light brown head. Solid roasted flavor. Very smooth and drinkable. IDunno19 (78), Ames, Iowa, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 13, 2008 12 oz bottle poured into pint glass- in trade with ketchepillar- poured non transparent black, tan head formed and stayed for ten minutes, medium carbonation. Aroma of roasted malt, brown sugar, and a dark molasses quality to it. Hits the mouth with a thick chewy quality, alot of roasted malt and dark toffee notes, finish fades away slowly. Makes me crave a cigar everytime I sip it. Don’t know why this is rated so low- had this at room temp. for a month before I remembered I had it, tastes good to me! brewcrew2002 (50), USA

Smell is of cocoa and roasty, with some hops perceived as well, nice, but could have been stronger. There seems to be some sort of sourness in the taste, but luckily the roastiness overpowers it quickly and leads you to a tasting of oats and cocoa in the finish. Lower carbonation, nice creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied. I could definately see myself having more of this, could be improved in some areas, but is a pretty good local stout. Worth trying if you come across. FROTHINGSLOSH (2025), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA

I am not otherwise familiar with this brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized very dark brown head. The aroma is sweet and roasty with sweet chocolate and coffee elements. The flavor is moderately sweet, roasty, toasty and has a light chocolate element and a hint of coffee. There is a moderate floral hop presence. The finish is roasty and chocolaty. The mouthfeel is moderately thick. Cappadonna (104), Delray Beach, Florida, USA

Pleasant aroma of toffee and chocolate with plenty of malt undertones. The flavor has immediate sweet notes of chocolate and coffee, followed by a mild bitterness- very well balanced. Smooth mouthfeel. I’m surprised this beer isn’t rated higher.
