Commercial Description:
Pale Ale's on the coasts of this country are turning into hoppy monsters, but our beer is more mild, and about balance. It has enough bitterness to match the maltiness provided by the pale malt base. It gets its citrus zing from extensive dry-hopping with Cascade hops. This beer was first made in a few small test batches in 2003. The response was so incredibly positive, that it has worked it’s way into a year round beer. A hoppy IPA in the central plains... how exciting!

Dark orange pour with a light white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel malt, and a bit of dry hops. Flavor is citrus and bread, some crackers. Caramel and a bit of hops. A pretty smooth drinking ale, albeit nothing all that special.

Bottle with thanks to Andy. Pours a copper with little head and very little in the nose other than some apple juice and faint hops of some sort or another. Flavor is similar and it seems a little overzealous to call this an IPA.

Bottle shared with MrBunn. Yeasty bready aroma with a light hop note. Pour is a coppery amber. Taste is a bit odd. A touch citrusy, some malt presence, and some toast.Finish is rather smooth. A bit more bitter would be good.

[2066-20090402] 355mL bottle. Hoppy toast aroma has a very mild fruit note. Hazy, dark orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head and lots of floaties. Hoppy toasted malt continues in the flavour. Medium body. Bitter.

One of the best pale ales i have had thus far. Pale pour (imagine that) Little bit of spice on the palate and a little bit of a citrus note.

Bottle (12oz). Shared by jerc and mabel with me and garthicus. Hazy amber pour with an average frothy off-white head. Slightly milky aroma, sweet cereal grain and light floral hops - simple and pretty dull. The taste follows, but there’s some sharp hop bitterness and no lactose at all - pretty decent. Average body, chewy mouthfeel, decently carbonated, nice long grainy linger with underlying bitterness.

2009-04-02. Hazy orange body with a modest foamy beige head. (3+) Aroma is mild, muted citrus. (6+) Flavour is lightly bitter, mild resin and mild orange citrus. (6+) Average palate. Okay. Bottle from Cletus.
