Sampled on draught during Great Taste Midwest 2009 in Madison, WI. No posting or mention of this in the program but luckily the volunteers informed me of this one. Pours a semi-hazy orange amber colored brew with a decent off-white head that has some nice retention and lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus zest, a hint of tangerine/apricot and some rosemary. Taste is medium bodied, slightly tart flavors of citrus, some peach/apricot and a light caramel malt base. Finish is when the Brett is detected with a tart and dry spice aftertaste that slowly disappears. Excellent twist to their regular Iowa Pale Ale.

Draft at GTMW 2009 and again at the Festival of Iowa Beers in Amana. Poured a cloudy medium orange color with a white head. Smelled of baking spices, orange, and subdued apricot. Medium bodied and delicately sweet without any significant bitterness given the IPA billing. I tasted some citrusy hops and Brett fruitiness reminiscent of orange and apricot. There was also some pale malt and caramel in the background. A hint of acidity/sour funk emerged. Pretty decent, actually.

On tap at the GTMW, a one-off according to the brewer. Hazy amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, light pine, caramel and funk. Taste of citrus and pine backed by caramel and a nice addition of sour bretty notes. Finishes up with moderate bitterness with a touch of sourness. Pretty solid SIPA.
