Commercial Description:
We make this beer several months before the harvest so it can age properly. Millstream Oktoberfest is similar to the our Munich style Schild Brau, but is stronger, maltier, and darker in color. A truly special beer, to celebrate the harvest, an important part of life here in Amana.

Bottle from pepsican. Thanks! Amber color, minimal head. Aroma has malt, caramel, light hops and some bready notes. Flavor is a bit sweet, smooth with bready malts, slight hops and would be a lot better if it werent for the crazy carbonation. Still a pretty decent brew.

Pours clear bronze with a bubbly tan head. The aroma has the sweet marzen malt with caramel and graham cracker along with some hazelnut. Medium body with way too much carbonation. The taste as sweet nutty caramel malt that is a bit medicinal. The finish adds phenolic spice. This is okay for the style, but it’s pretty boring.

I think this is the best Oktoberfest I’ve had this year! This pours with a big fluffy white head that settles as a permanent swirl on top of the beer. The beer is a nice deep orange/amber. The aroma is lightly malty, and roasty with some even lighter hop notes. The taste is more remarkable than the aroma, this has an amazing malt character that is not as aggressively sweet as some in this genre, it is largely dry and lightly grainy tasting, and the roastedness is very present and just sings with the nice fresh hop flavor. Delicious.

Pour is lightly hazed reddish amber with a thin dense light brown head...smell is slightly sour with some old prunes and old bread....taste is grainy and sweet and has some cardboard flavor to it...

Sent to be several months ago in the micro-brew of the month club. One of the better marzens that I have had. Like typical marzens, clear and no head. Tasted very good though.

Loved this brew. Could taste cherries in it. Deeeeeep red color, nice subtle flavors but smooth. Excellent for fall or winter.

Pours to a nice autumn-like red-brown-ornage, with a medium off-white had that left okay lacing. Nose was the expected malty nuts, earth and dark fruits, with a hint of toffee, and the mouthfeel full and slightly sweet. Taste was more of the malty fall taste, and the finish wet, but offset by just enough hops to be pleasant.
