Commercial Description:
We make this beer several months before the harvest so it can age properly. Millstream Oktoberfest is similar to the our Munich style Schild Brau, but is stronger, maltier, and darker in color. A truly special beer, to celebrate the harvest, an important part of life here in Amana.

Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Brennan’s Country Farm Market in Brookfield, WI. Pours a semi-clear copper amber brew with a thin, creamy fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of light roasted caramel malt, some fruity character, sweet citrus hops and a touch of roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, caramel malt, some salt water taffy, and a light fruity character. Finish is semi-sweet fruity, with little hop bitterness.

This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby-chestnut color with a very small tan head that faded quickly. The aroma was sweet, tang and malty. The flavor was tangy, bitter, nutty and malty with a lightly fruity undertone. There was a bit of roastiness that came out on the finish.

Bottle. Poured a clear caramel color with a thin white head. Almost not lacing whatsoever. Mouthfeel is nice. Aroma is decent, with sweet and fruity scents. Flavor is typical of most oktoberfest/marzens, as it has a nice caramel malt flavor to it. Aftertaste almost has a apple hint to it. A nice oktoberfest brew.

Pretty good Octoberfest. Nice and yeasty aroma and a malty sweet flavor. A bit of hoppy dryness at the end.

Copper body beneath a fleeting white head. Caramel, taffy apple, a hint of hops. Lively carbonation, crisp and clean. Flavor is sweet but not cloying.

hints of nut’s a fruits. Very gentle finish, no- harsh bitter aftertase, very pleasant in fact. Reminds me of Killians, a little lighter.

Plastic cup on tap at the brewery in Amana, Iowa. Amber with a thin white head. Malty aroma. Started out with strong sweet malt and caramel notes. Some earthy hops became apparent as it warmed. There was some bitterness. Very solid Octoberfest.
