Aroma of sweet toasty German malts with a touch of earthy noble hops. Body starts fairly full and sweet with some doughy toffee and mild chocolate notes. A pretty good oktoberfestbier. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 11, 2006 A decent Oktoberfest, pouring an orange/copper body with a diminutive white head. The aroma is toasty and filled with a malty sweetness. There’s a slight surge of caramel in the middle, but the flavor retains that toasted malt taste that I enjoy in the style. The hops are nearly undetectable and there’s a slight twist of lemon in the finish. The carbonation is a good palate cleanser. Nice.

There is still that honey finish, but a little more pear core and it is annoying. Aroma is sweet with a touch of caramel and apples. Also has a hint of hay in the background. Relatively large white head. Very deep amber with an almost neon orange highlight. The taste is fairly subtle with grass, toffee and some nice honey in the finish. Overall a fairly thin, but decent fall brew. Skyview (4055), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Pours a semi-clear copper amber brew with a thin, creamy fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of light roasted caramel malt, some fruity character, sweet citrus hops and a touch of roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, caramel malt, some salt water taffy, and a light fruity character. Finish is semi-sweet fruity, with little hop bitterness. GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
