Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 3, 2009 Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has primary notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of pumpernicle bread, alcohol, and bread - reminds me of a bock. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 13, 2009 Apparent chocolate and a malty goodness! One of the Millstream standards that you should try if newly exploring Iowa beer. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 18, 2009 A majestic thanks goes out to caneyehavefourbeers, hehheh, for this one! Has a sweeter candy armoa. Orange brown in the bottle without any sediment. Slight haze. Head fades to nothing after a few. Initial taste and impression is way higher than the 4.9% listed here. If it was me, I’d say about 6 perhaps even 7! Somewhat thicker oily viscosity in this baby. Strong and wayward. Props across my tongue like an iron ore laden barge being driven by a tugboat against the flow in the ohio river someplace around beaver county. Wew, a little more personality than I care for in a vienna. Finish is almost medicine in nature. Yowzer, I think i’m gettin dizzy near the end of this bottle. Rude at times on the way down the throat. Some hops in there lurking around on the end. Comes off somewhat like a spice or veggie brew. I’m glad I got to try this unique brew! HonkeyBra (1264), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jun 28, 2009 Light burnt orange color with very little white head. Aroma of dough and some stale malt. Crisp, albeit watery flavor with some notes of caramel and dough. A bit of Hallertau hops in the finish. Pretty bland and nondescript. Birdiebeagle (777), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 22, 2009 Bottle Pours a clear amber with a thin quickly fading off white head. Lacing is okay. Aroma is spices, dough, and cardboard. Has an okay carbonation. The flavor is decent crisp and refreshing. Has a watery texture. A medium to light body. The finish is soft but okay. Lacks some aftertaste for me but not bad. This is an easy drinking beer. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Jun 18, 2009 Bottle from West Lakeview Liquors, Chicago, IL. Hazy, orangish amber color with fizzy white head. Aroma is caramel and dough with some biscuit, red fruit and plum as well, spicey. Flavor is a sharp juice like flavor, definite souring, plum and red fruits once again made a little more apparent with the sourness. Medium and well carbonated body. Wow. This has become a definite sour bomb, like vinegar a little bit with a little bit of lacto going on as well. Though it isn’t bad the way it turned out, I will not give it as high of a score because of the infection. nuplastikk (1159), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 13, 2009 12oz shorty bottle picked up on a road trip through Milwaukee. Id have to assume this beer might be a little past it’s prime. Amber-brown color. Patchy, oily head. Sweet aroma, brown sugar? Fruity, easy drinking malt taste. Wow, this is actually quite nice. Balanced and crisp, this is really done right. Malty and rich, while remaining light and medium bodied on the palate. Light amber malt flavors, lots of cream, and some underlying caramel. Ceebs25 (217), Naperville, Illinois, USA May 18, 2009 12 oz bottle. Light aroma as expected, but a good blend of notes that are decently appealing. Grass and light herb, mild citrus on the hop side, with milder fruitiness, and grainy caramel. Rather unexciting pour with only a light fizzy head that completely dissipates, lighter appearing in body, not watery looking though, mild carbonation, and orange amber in color. No wateriness in the taste, though fairly light and quaffable, with a smoother crispness that is not overly biting. Not a heck of a lot to the flavor, but a rather simple combination herbal grass, light and spicy fruitiness, and caramel toasted cereal. This works well though as the balance is nice. Overall, really not too bad, a good beer for the summer.
