xnoxhatex (753), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 13, 2008 Bottle from West Lakeview Liquors, Chicago. Clear, light yellow with fizzy white head. Sweet bread malt and a little yeast. Flavor is much the same with some citrus and graininess. Thin, watery and fizzy body. Easy drinking but not anything exciting.
Ughsmash (2817), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jun 20, 2008 Bottled. Poured clear bright golden with lots of rising carbonation and a short-lived cap of white. The aroma picked up dry pale malts and vegetal notes upfront with some wheat that didn’t really do anything for it. The flavor had the same pale malts along with honey at the core.. wheat gave a subtle tartness.. some vegetal notes and cardboard joined honey on the finish.. nothing really good here. Lighter-bodied and dry on the palate with some tacky spots.. meh. Gooney (18), Oregon, USA Jun 12, 2008 12 oz bottle from Hy-Vee - No head to speak of. Smells like fresh rain on a dirty rock. Crispy, sharp taste. The bottle says it is actually a wheat lager, not an ale. 17thfloor (582), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 15, 2008 Pours a clear golden with a dismal sudsy head like that of a soda. Strong wheaty aroma, smells like old bread. Flavor is actually pretty decent, sweet wheat, very smooth and glassy. The lagering is very nice. A little bit sour and a good amount of honey. This is a great example of a wheat, it actually features the wheat flavor rather than relying on spices to carry it. Pleasant body with smooth carbonation. dkachur (623), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Apr 11, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Degarth. Thanks! Pours a slightly hazy straw color. Pale wheat aroma. No bitterness to speak of. Slighly spicy bready taste. Moderately sweet. Very watery.
