I wish I could get to the pub more often to sample your progress. This was definitely one of my top beers of the festival... Complex hop nose offers floral, perfumey, citrus, floral and leafy notes with some spiciness and strong, chewy underlying toasted malt base. Lightly hazy orange-copper coloured body is topped by a decent, fine-bubbled, white head that recedes slowly to a lasting cover with some lacing. Toasted malts are stiff in the flavour and match well with the delicate fruitiness and lingering floral, perfumey hop flavours. Balance is key. Fair finishing bitterness is assertive without overwhelming. Light body with moderate carbonation that is gently effervescent. Perhaps more of a strong interpretation of a British style rather than an American Pale Ale but very quaffable and nuanced all the same. I could readily have enjoyed a pint or three of this had the pub been open the next day. Sampled on cask at the Extreme Brewers Fest 2006. tonyc603 (43), New Hampshire, USA

Smells like a garden with some flowers and even some citrus, maybe oranges. The flavor here is mainly all hops, with a touch of malt. The hops are bitter and tangy with more citrus flavors, fruity. It has a light body which seems to be perfect for drinking this all night, which I won’t unfortunately. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

Orange/dark golden with a big off white head, good lacing, medium carbonation. Aroma, is big, and of citrus and pine hops. Taste starts with bitter hops, then goes to toasted malt, with a clean bitter finish. Very well balanced. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA

Tastes wonderfully crisp and clean- with enough malts to balance things out. Finishes long and bitter- the loads of columbus make for a fine finish. Excellent. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Nose is light citrus, some grassy straw notes, light toasted malts. Flavor is much more citrusy hops then anticipated. Some light malt for a solid balance, sticky palate with a light bitterness in the finish. DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2006 On tap at Millys. Really nice golden amber color. Light hoppy aroma, some hints of citrus/grapefruit. Medium-strong hop flavors balanced with malt. A somewhat bitter finish, but with some nice grapefruit flavors to even things out. Very good, without a doubt. Rastacouere (5564), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2006 Cask. Orange pour, fading white head. Strong hoppy nose with complex fragrant perfume, vegetal, pointy leafiness, weel disposed at every angle. Develops interesting white pepper nuance in mouth, orange, strong leafiness, mint toothpaste and even tobacco. Extremely supported hop nuance. Supporting malts show some toastiness and mostly fruit suggestions in the shape of berries or pear. Nicely working cask mouthfeel, a fitting delivery vessel for this brew, the soft carbonation enhancing the aromatics. Very good.
