BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA Jul 8, 2006 [cask @ the brewpub, 7.7.06] Intriguing fresh tea aroma, with some banana and clove spice. Flavors are slightly tart, almost lemony citrus, with a solid wheat foundation. The chamomile adds quite a bit in terms of aroma, and also adds a tea-like sweetness in the finish. Nice, mellow carbonation. A unique take on the standard summer hefeweizen. DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA Jul 7, 2006 Coarse, bubbly head that quickly faded. Hazy orange/amber color. Aromas of the standard hefe variety, but with a touch of chamomile...and a hint of pear and banana. Flavors were more acidic than the typical hefe, most likely due to the addition of the chamomile. Overall a great beer, I could get used to this, despite its strange "novelty" nature. Extremely refreshing, being from a cask, it tasted a bit like iced tea with its minimal carbonation...a little TOO easy to drink perhaps.
