Commercial Description:
Blueberries are great for pancakes and muffins as we all know, but here at Milly's we prefer them in out beer. Over 200 pounds of blueberry puree was used in making our Blueberry Ale.

on tap-pours a thin creamy white head that laces with amber/copper color. Aroma is blueberry, sweet malt. Taste is blueberry, sweet malt-butterscotch & slightly smokey/roasty, medium hops bite. Autumn in the north east, nicely done fruit beer that is a medium body instead of a light bodied beer. OK carbonation.

Orangey body is topped by an extreme glass-sticking head. Very clear. Extreme mix of perfume and blueberries in the nose. Creamed flowers, soapy and juicy completes the aromas. Dry palate, in a sandy way, not very complex, but certainly interesting fruit beer. I’ve trouble determining if I like it or not, intriguing ropey dryness. A bit watery palate though, fine moderately high carbonation. Special to say the least.

The Lure:
Strongly perfumy and prickly blueberries sprayed on quiet yeast. Great head and lacing, this is quite attractive, if not a little too chemical (soap, perfume). Had I had this blind, I would probably have thought it was to be worn.

The Festivities:
Strong carbonation and omnipresent yeast dominate the shy blueberries. The perfume smell does not transpire into the beer, maybe thankfully. Some watery passages make it easier to drink.

Transcendence:
A woman just passed by behind me, I’m sure.

Sample from growler shared by brewer Dirtymike with the crowd at the Ratebeer Mondial gathering. Light strawberry-pink color, fine-bubbled head...fruit-tart nose with a slightly acerbic/acidic quality...sour, tart body is peppery at the finish, only light and simple fruitiness...tingly, strong carbonation. Mmm, think I could have used a bigger sample and one even fresher.

Obvious blueberry aroma with a perfumey, peppery character. Clear pinkish tan with decent white head that covers lastingly and leaves some lacing. Fair fruit flavour doesn’t dominate the wheat character of the base beer and has a nicely tart finish. Soft carbonation with a medium body and creamy texture. I think I’d prefer this with crisper carbonation but in any case it was very good and that could be that it deteriorated in the few hours in the growler. Enjoyed at the Ratebeer Mondial Gathering 2005.

Growler from Dirtymike at the 6/4/05 Mondial Gathering. Pale-amber color, with light violet tinges and a hint of auburn on the edge. White-pink head is ample-sized and lasting, with light lacing. Smells of blueberry juice, lightly tart, hints of pale grains and perfumey esters. Flavor of blueberry juice, blueberry skins and dry, grainy malt. Good malt sweetness and a wonderful balancing tartness that I have not found in other blueberry beers. Low carbonation, medium body. Not sweet and artificial in the least. A great introduction to the brewery! Kind of like the first batch of Au Courant, which I also absolutely loved. That smooth, honeyish malt in good quantity with a spicy/perfumey, tart fruit flavor.

Tap at millys. Pours a light golden with a violet tinge and a few blueberries floating in the beer. Aroma is nice real fresh blueberry and blueberry muffin- doughy and sweet. Good flavor- good berry pretty powerful overall, nice crisp pils malt backbone with a light sweetness, blueberries become a slight bit harsh in the end and almost solvent like but still pretty good for this style which I usually don’t care for.

Pours a clear reddish copper color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of blueberries and malt. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.
