Commercial Description:
A traditional scotch ale, caramel and malt sweetness dominates the palate. A full bodied ale that’s higher in alcohol content than most, making it a great after dinner sipper, but definitely not for the mild at heart.

Growler shared with oteyj. Pours a dark but clear brown with a small bubbly head. Aroma is greatly hindered due to me being sick, but seems sweet and fruity. Flavor is also sweet, but with some bitter malt. Palate is OK, but nothing too special. Tasty, but not amazing.

Growler shared with crafycarl21. Pours a beautiful ruby brown with smallish head. Aroma reminds me of cherry jello. Lots of fruity sweet malt. I’ve never smelled anything like it, and don’t really know what to make of it. Flavor is much more robust- lots of sweet malt and roast which finishes with a hint of malt bitterness. Very unique and somewhat appealing.

just as the description says, its a great after dinner sipper. Instead of desert, the beer fan at Milly’s can grab a Bos Scotch Ale and get a little extra out of it that a piece of cake cant match

20070120 Growler? Sampled at Paul’s. Brown color with pale head. Potent, boozy aroma with sugary notes, malta, distant notes of that fake plastic smoke. Body is thick, coating, brutal, like liquid caramel with even a touch of cloying. Flavor is hard to discern past all of the sweetness, but it’s less flavorful than expected given the immense malts. I guess I can see what they were getting at.

Pint glass on tap at Millys Tavern. Deep amber color with nice thick off white head. Nose was malty with notes of caramel and toffee. Nice thick palate with little carbonation. Smooth & creamy. This is a sweeeet brew. Liquid candy indeed. Taste is same as nose. Sweet caramel, some brown sugar, and toffee. Alcohol is well hidden and is not a distraction.

Not a bad Scotch Ale, especially considering that I’ve tried a few that I really didn’t like. This is definitely a strong Ale and after you have a few you’ll be able to notice it. Amber colored with some head but not a lot. Aroma was sweet and malty. The flavor was caramel, malty with a tart sweetness. There are some sugary notes in there as well. High alcohol content but they do a decent job hiding it. As the beer warms a little, the alcohol is much easier to notice and it becomes a little too tart for my liking. Still overall it wasn’t a bad beer, although it was quite expensive."

Draught. No head, amber colored. Very sweet, caramel and toffee aroma. Flavor is delicious, a potpouri of malts, very sweet, and balanced. Alcohol in aftertaste. Good beer.

Poured brown with orange highlites and an off-white head. Aroma is strong and sweet with yeast, bubble gum, molasses and brown sugar. Taste is smooth and sweet with coffee and dark fruits, leading to a semi-sweet yeasty finish. Nothing about it makes it definitively a scotch ale, and I could easily confuse this with a doppelbock. However, it’s still pretty decent. I sure love ass, and this smells like a winner!
