Commercial Description:
A traditional scotch ale, caramel and malt sweetness dominates the palate. A full bodied ale that’s higher in alcohol content than most, making it a great after dinner sipper, but definitely not for the mild at heart.

May 2006 - Milly’s Tavern. At a tasting with Volgon, EricNixon, DirtyMike & Hophead75. This Bos Scotch Ale appeared murky amber in color with an ivory head to it. The aroma is mostly sweet and slightly woody. It tastes sweet in the beginning, and finishes with a bitterness. This is an interesting ale because it’s pleasant smoothness ends with a punch.

[tap] Very interesting... pours a dark amber color, with almost no head to speak of. Aroma and flavors are dominantly sweet, but luckily the sweetness is balanced by a fair amount of hops and a slight alcohol burn. Finishes on the bitter side of things. A very nice brew from Milly’s.

Clear copper body with off-white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, cherry. Taste is sweet, cherry, caramel, light toffee. Medium-full body with low carbonation, hides the alcohol pretty well. Candyish -- seems like it should be too sweet but....

Sampled from growler. Deep amber in colour, thin beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, some alcohol, slightly sweet. The flavour had notes of smoke, caramel malts, dark fruits, light sweetness. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. FInishes with a light bitterness, fairly quick. Quite nice.

Tastes like beer, but not overly beerish. Not heavy, but very refreshing. Also not a wimpy color like most lighter beers. Good!
