oteyj (713), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Oct 17, 2009 Growler. Deep red pour with a small tan head. Aroma is of caramel, toast, some roasted barley, and hints of grain. Flavor follows much of the same trends found in the nose: A sweet caramel and toasted malt sweetness yields some dry roast and graininess. Palate is a tad thin for the style, but nicely effervescent and clean finishing. puboflyons (589), New Hampshire, USA Sep 20, 2009 On tap at Milly’s. The pour is mainly brown with about a quarter inch beige head and slightly cloudy. The aroma is nutty, malty, and caramel sweet. The mouthfeel runs about medium. The flavor is nutty, bready, and hopped. It was smooth overall with no aftertaste. mcox90 (617), Wilton, USA Jun 11, 2009 Sample shared with jcwattsrugger at Millys 06/11/09. Apparantly this is a newer ramped up recipe. Pours a clear cola like light brown with a 1/2" off white head. Nose is nutty with roasted malt. Palate is medium bodied with low carbonation, very easy drinking. Flavor is roasted malt with a nice nutty background. A little hop in the distance. Quite enjoyable. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Dec 8, 2008 on tap-pours a rich tan head that laces and dark copper color. Aroma is medium malt-roasty/some chocolate, faint earthy hops. Taste is medium malt-roasty/some chocolate, secondary earthy hops. Nice English brown.
