Cask at GBBF 2007. A hazy brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of toffee as well as notes of bisquits and malt. The flavor is acidic with light notes of whiskey and brettanomyces, leading to a dry woody finish. Nice.

Cask@GBBF 2007. Black beer with a coffee, bitter and roasted aroma and a lightly coffee and roasted flavour. Overall a nice lightly roasted bitter beer.

Clearish copper coloured ale with a light white cover. Rather one-dimensional ale that is clearly intended for oak lovers as the barrel has pretty much eaten whatever was beery about it. Huge oak aroma with strong, strong minty notes. Wildly woody and growing alcoholic on the way. Not too sure of the purpose or direction, but it does feel a bit tart and whiskey-like.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 8 Aug 2007) Chestnut brown colour with ruby notes, short frothy head. Woody nose with notes of bourbon, or rather bourbon liqueur (Southern Comfort). Fruity, acidic taste with wood, sweet bourbon notes and a sweet-sour, acidic finish leaning slightly in the Rodenbach direction. Not very bitter, medium body, rather sweet. Aged in ex Jack Daniels barrels. Definitely different, enjoyable in moderate quantities.
