Andrew brought this to the Captain Lawrence gathering- thanks dude. This is really a unique and tasty Saison. Pours with a nice slight hazy gold with a fluffy lasting white head. Aroma is a cool blaance between intense west coast hops- moslty chinook and crystal and then you get a nice yeasty phenolic farmhousy character. Flavor is very hoppy along with lots of farmhouse hints, somewhat saisonlike behind the hops and finishes very dry and extremely bitter with citrus and pine in the end. Damn smooth and tasty. I loved this stuff. Not traditional but damn tasty stuff. ericnixon (719), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA

Nice cloudy orange color with a citrusy aroma. Mild bitterness at the end but with a clean aftertaste. Very reminiscent of many of the beers I had while in Europe last year. hophead75 (1961), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 30, 2006 sampled at the brewery and at the BA BBF 06. Hazy golden in appearance. Aroma is heavy on the citrus hops, with light esters and spicy saison peppery notes. Taste is citrus hops, bitter, with light fruity esters(citrus not banana) and spicy yeast notes. A great hybrid saison, very enjoyable. Just wish I had more. Glouglouburp (2859), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Tap at brewpub. Clear blonde body with a small white head. True to its advertised nature, true American hoppiness on top of a true Belgian Saison foundation. Dupont-ish yeast, fruity notes, light honey flavour, leafy hops (very hoppy). Finish is moderately bitter, a little sweet and with a nice tartness. Not content with being simply well balanced the beer is also very tasty, borderline intense. Successfully delivers exactly what it promises, if only the brewer could do politics… PeterA (339), Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 5, 2005 A beer with a floral aroma. The appearance was a light cloudy, ciderish color. The favor was lemony and strongly bitter. The mouthfeel was slightly stick. My notes call this a "happy" beer. scraff (1946), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 7, 2005 Bottle - A&K’s 4th AHBT - Lightly hazed gold, thin fizzy white head. Interesting and complex nose of flowers, lemon, coriander, grass, and soap. Flavor was similar with additional wheaty notes, more florals, and a decent peppery hop bitterness rounding it out. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, spicy, lemony finish. Different yet tasty.....

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 25, 2005 Slowly diminishing white head covers the cloudy golden body. Doughy, peppery and soapy yeastiness hits first, but the rye blends in nicely with the biscuity and cerealic barley, gentle inoffensive spicing (coriander? sage?) contributes rounding flavours. Finishing a bit phenolic, which works well here. Could be a bit more attenuated, but I don’t know that the rye would be as apparent. Reminds me of the more local Cheval Blanc saison examples. I really enjoyed the rye signature in this one, it procures a spicy, woody dry character that fits perfectly. tonyc603 (43), New Hampshire, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2007 Hazy golden in color with a small white head. This is a very interesting beer, the aroma blends Belgian yeast with citrus hops. The flavor is spicy, fruity, slightly acidic, bitter and hoppy. It’s like a Belgian West Coast IPA for lack of a better description. Take a light Belgian saison and hop it with tons of those citrus beasties and wham! It’s overly bitter in the finish, one of the major flaws with this beer, but I like it still because I love hops.
