Had at Milly’s Tavern in Manchester. Dark orange color. Kind of fizzy but good with a lot of sweet malts. I like this a lot.

On tap at Millys. Beautiful amber-y color with a consistantly covering thin head. Thin mouthfeel, but a nice malty taste.

On tap at the brewpub: Clear orange with a medium white head. Sweet malts in the aroma, starts and ends lightly sweet, smooth body, very drinkable.

Aroma contains notes of fresh grain, caramel, dark fruits, brown sugar, cream, oranges and earth. Clear amber-copper coloured body is topped with shy white head that recedes to ring. Caramel, raisins, plums, chocolate flavours with a light roasty bitterness. Medium-full body dries out in the finish with fair-moderate carbonation. Sampled at the brewpub with dirtymike, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Rastacouere and Volgon.

Brownish orange glow, white ring. Strong caramel aroma contains an earthy tartness I’m not familiar with. Quite mellow aroma, fruity, orangey and grainy. Becomes better to my tastes in mouth. It has a creamy smooth feeling accompanied by a medium body and low carbonation. A tartish toothpaste mintiness adds a new dimension to the sweet candyish caramel maltiness. A balancing bitterness keeps it from reaching the extremes effortlessly. A good beer that knows its limits.

Growler from Dirtymike at the 6/4/05 Mondial Gathering. Orange-amber, with a rusty sheen to it and hints of auburn waves giving a lightly layered appearance. Thin white head is fleeting, with little to no lacing. Clear consistency. Candied apples and chocolate in the nose, decent bocky-yeastiness. Definitely some sweet and tart fruits in the nose, cherries, plums, raisins. Flavor begins lightly dry, with an oily feel to it, but some yeast to chew on. Toffee and rich barley grains, giving a lightly roasted edge. Candied-roasted almonds on the end, moderately dry, with a touch of orange peel. Easygoing, low carbonation and mouthfeel. As it warmed and breathed, I got to liking it far more than my first sip, which seemed to dry, pale and oily.
