Commercial Description:
This imperial India Pale Ale is excessively hopped and for serious hop heads only. Generous usage of Amarillo, Centennial, Chinook, and Crystal hops will surely have you scraping them off your teeth.

[many pints] Pours a bright gold color, with a tall, off white head. Strong citrus aroma. A real hop assault, in terms of flavors. Piney and resinous, but as it warms and the palate adjusts, some real fruity, melon-ish elements come through. Slick, dense mouthfeel. A really well done example of a pretty common style. Fantastic.

November 2005 - I had this outrageously hoppy IPA on tap at home. Quite intense for me, but great nonetheless. Superbitterfragilistickexpealadotious with a hint of citrus. The "strongest" IPA I have had to date. Nice job, Mike!

Thanks to DirtyMike for sending this to us, but sadly, I’m not a fan of the super hoppy beers. Noxious is right, maybe even Toxius. Way way way too bitter. I had to scrape off my tongue afterwards.

Thanks to DirtyMike for sending a bottle of this! Nice dark orange and cloudy color. Fruity/floral nose. The taste. Like sticking your head in a sack of hops. Super bitter, super wicked mega hella hoppy. My lord.

Poured into a Westmalle chalice for absolutely no reason, revealing a hazy crimson coloration, under a slim, short-lived head...I re-pour into into a standard pint glass, and the result is fuller, thicker head, long lasting, full of creamy off-white froth, and a multitude of bubbles. Aroma screamed hops from first pour, but let’s pull in close. Ahhh! Big fresh pine and citric, outstanding PacNW combination that reeks of pine resin and grapefruit. Brilliant bitterness, yet sweet and hard to beat, an utter delight in the nose. Soft and creamy once into the mouth, but backed by a battalion of bitter hops, then fading just so, but leave a gritty hop texture still on the tongue. Quite a complex beast, this, a mix of mango, citrus, and tropical fruits in the flavor infused with intense, unrelenting, but undoubtedly delicious bitterness. It hangs around the mouth like the proverbial fat lady. The IBU’s must be through the roof on this guy. "Hopnoxious", indeed, but to a hop demon like me, it’s doing the trick quite nicely. ABV rumbles into presence halfway into the glass. It’s a little strong, yeah, and we feel it, and we love it. I mean, I do, anyway...but the taste is what resounds most strong in this particular ale. Most delicious. Most. If I could get this in my neighborhood, I’d be a regular for sure. A pleaser for this person’s palate, indeed. Ridiculously delicious. Only a glass and a quarter into this growler, and I can’t drink it all tonight, so...I’ve got something to look forward to tomorrow night, then, haven’t I? Very good stuff, can’t recommend it enough...

Sampled at Argo and Kathy’s 2006 Holiday Gathering - Hazy amber, light tan head. Nose held soapy dishwater notes, juniper, citrus, and perfume. Straight up bitter flavors throughout with hardly any malt detected. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sharply bitter finish (like razored hops). There is a right way and a wrong way to make a "hop bomb"....this one being the latter....

On tap at beer festivals, the brewpub and my house: Cloudy dark orange with an off-white head. Huge grapefruit with resin in the nose, full bodied with good carbonation, starts and ends pretty fricking bitter. Long intense aftertaste that makes you want to drink more. Make more and deliver it to my house Mike!

Bottle at Aaron and Kathy’s Holiday/YeHa Party on 12-3-05. Courtesy of argo0. Clouded amber. Nose is hoppy and citrusy. Sweet malts, light maple, caramel, pine and some light earthy hops. Pleasant citrus notes throughout this one. Body is medium. Mild carbonation feel. Finishes smooth and bittersweet. Hops, caramel, citrus fruits and sweet malts. Not too bad.
