Cask Conditioned, at the Oakdale Arms, North London.
Dark headless beer. Sour aroma. Sour flavour which is sharp and acute on the palate. No nutty or earthy malt flavours. The brewer was there on hand to clarify and indeed he was sure it was a mild. Interesting to be sure but not your regular mild.

Very dark brown. Slightly sour aroma, with tobacco notes. Coffee and smoky malt on the palate. Dry, noticeably acidic finish. More like a porter than a mild in my view. Cask (gravity dispense), Oakdale Arms, London.
