Commercial Description:
Celtic Red Ale makes its annual appearance for St. Patrick's Day. This Irish-style red beer is brewed with generous portions of dark caramel malt, rye malt, and chocolate malt and is perfectly hopped with cascade and east Kent goldings to round out the smooth malt finish. This classic brew has 5.3% alcohol by volume and 23 IBU. Come on down and enjoy a beer with as much character as the Emerald Isle itself.

Pours dark red and has a sweet malty nose typical of red/irish ales. Tastes of dark malt and has a sour finish. It was quite nice.

Pours to a red hued brown body with a lasting creamy light beige head. Dense, sheet lacing. The aroma is light rye malt, subtle toffee, boring toasted malts. The palate is creamy, medium bodied, overly sticky.

Clear red deep body, not much head. Sweet caramel aroma. Dry crystal flavor underscored by bitter, stemmy hops. Some grapefruit rind in the finish but it’s mostly dry malt. Pretty underwhelming stuff.

Dark red color with a little head. Malty and slightly spice aroma. The taste is an unfortuante mix of good spices and grains versus the expired malts. It ends up falling in the bad column.

Brown Coloring with Smal White Head. Malt and Ginger Aroma. Light Ginger Notes on the Tongue...Bad Sweet Grains and Malt...Sweet and Dry Aftertaste. Interesting But Hard to Enjoy Thoroughly.
