DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 2, 2007 Black body, foamy tan head. Dusty chocolate aroma with a cream and tangy raspberry element on top. The flavor brings on a strong chocolate malt element with a tangy, fruity coffee bean. Lingering roasty finish. Lightly velvety mouthfeel, not as satisfying as their Milk or Sheepshead stouts. A solid coffee stout nonetheless. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Mar 31, 2007 Pours to a really dark brown body with a creamy light tan head. Very dense like it’s nitrogenated even though I know it is not. The aroma is like a cafe latte. Milky chocolate and coffee. The flavor is nice. Deep roasted black patent malt is highlighted by lightly bitter coffee and sweet lactose. The mouthfeel is thin and slick but then the high use of black patent kicks in at the end leaving a nicely roasted char on the back end. Definitely a sweet stout. A maduro cigar cut down on the sweetness. Not near as good as their Milk Stout.
