Commercial Description:
An amber ale with exceptional balance and smoothness. Brewed with a blend of specialty malts. Balanced by a choice blended of hops. True story... 1886 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, great uncle Louie was cracked over the head with a beer glass and killed. Louie's story is one of many Wisconsin tavern legends that gives life and color to our heritage. Drink one for uncle Louie and remember: today's barroom story might just be tomorrow's legend.

Clear medium amber, kicking up billows of of a yellowish beige head. Nice lace. Malt based aroma, some malt syrup with a bit of smoke. Flavors caramel, a bit of cider. Just enough hops bitters to make it not-exactly sweet. Basic clean session ale, non-complex, but nothing is off. Medium body.

Draft at OF. Amber-brown color, thick off white head. Slight to full on Amber malt pungency. Spicy malt aftertaste with a touch of cream. Full of flavor. Medium to full bodied. Rather well done, pretty solid balance between the rich malt and soapy hop crispness. A quality beer, worth a try.

Lots of grain in the aroma and flavor. Mildly bitter, but less so from hops than from dry malt, and there are almost no hops in this beer. Full palate for the style, with a light nut flavor. One of the best amber ales to be found anywhere, but like brown ale, there is only so much that can be done with this rather boring style.

This one poured a dark copper with a short lived head. The aroma was sloghtly sweet with a lightly carmelly or molasses like taste. Hops were faint, but balanced. These would be good session brews.

The perfect looking beer. Dark copper/reddish with a thick, creamy beige head that lasts with some good lacing. Aroma is sweet. Too sweet actually. Flavor is lightly of malt and caramel. Some faint bitter hops in the background and in the aftertaste, but nowhere near enough. This is good, but it has a watered down finish that disappoints. Label on bottle and the story on the carton are interesting. But this is not worth the $8 they get for a six-pack.

Nice complex malty flavors. Pours rich and creamy, yet not too filling. Bright hoppy, brilliant finish. Very good beer.

Slightly hazy, reddish amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet and slightly spicy malt. Flavors of nutty caramel and grain with a bit of a spicy tingle. Creamy palate with a nice tingle of carbonation and and long smooth, slightly hoppy finish

Bottle thanks to hopdog. Pours a lightly hazy deep amber with golden highlights and a smaller bubbly off white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, some nuts, cardboard and dark fruits. Flavor of caramel, sweet grainy malts, toffee, cardboard and a touch of citrus.
